Obituary of William J. Van Pelt

William J. Van Pelt, 89, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Monday, May 4, 2015. Born in West Long Branch, to the late Winiford and Grace Van Pelt, he lived in Point Pleasant for most of his life. Mr. Van Pelt was a United States Navy, World War II veteran and a retired self-employed excavating contractor. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, of sixty-four years, Margaret Birdsall Van Pelt. Surviving are two sons, William Van Pelt of Toms River and David Van Pelt and his wife Cynthia of Jackson. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, May 7 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 8, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at Saint Anne Cemetery, Wall.
