Obituary of Robert J. Burns

Robert J. Burns, 1933-2015, passed away, Saturday, June 20, 2015. He was born, raised, and spent his life in Point Pleasant. After graduating from Point Pleasant Beach High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he was trained and assigned to communications in Hawaii. Upon his return to Point Pleasant, he worked as a bridge tender and later was employed by Resorts International, Atlantic City. Robert was an avid sports enthusiast and collector with vast knowledge of all things baseball. He enjoyed sporting events, bike riding, swimming, and spending time with family. Robert was predeceased by brother, Martin J. Burns, Bay Head, and his nephew, Daniel P. Burns, Manasquan. He is survived by his brother, Frederick L. Burns, Spring Lake Heights. "Uncle Bob" will be missed by his nine nieces and nephews. At 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 751 Main Avenue (Route 35), Bay Head, followed by interment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
