Obituary of James Sands
James Sands, 79, of Brick, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
Born and raised in Paterson, he has lived in Brick since 1960.
He was a United States Navy, Korean War veteran and went on to serve with the Seabees. Mr. Sands was retired from United Parcel Service, where he worked as a driver.
He was predeceased by his son, James Sands, Jr. and grandson, John James (J.J.) Lesemann.
Surviving are his wife, Gail; two daughters, Cindy Lesemann and her husband John and Loree Sands-Fremaint and her husband Rich; and two step-sons, Thomas Hensley and his wife Jennie, and Duane Hensley. Also surviving are his sisters, Sandra Grant and Carmen Schmidt; brother, Donald Wilson; five grandchildren; and several dear friends.
At 11 a.m., Thursday, July 2, U.S. Navy Honors, followed by inurnment, will take place at the chapel of the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Provinceline Road, Arneytown. (Those attending may assemble at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, at 9:45 a.m. to process to the cemetery or may meet there directly.)
