Obituary of George R. Lauer, Sr.

George R. Lauer, Sr., 82, of Manchester, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away, Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Born in Hackensack, to the late George A. and Julia Lauer, he moved to Point Pleasant in 1950 and later to Manchester. Mr. Lauer worked as a self-employed plumber in the Point Pleasant area for many years. He was a Charter and Life Member of Point Pleasant Borough Fire Company No. 2 and was also a member of the NJ State Exempt Firemen's Association. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Gloria Lauer and son, Steven Lauer. Surviving are his son, George R. Lauer, Jr. and his wife Diane and his daughter, Joanne Sadowski and her husband Richard, all of Manchester. Also surviving are his brother, Ernest Lauer and his wife Carol; and four grandchildren, Richard and his wife Jessica, Melloney, Lucas, and Austin. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m., Thursday, July 23 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 7:30 p.m. a service will be held. At 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 24 interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
