Obituary of Robert W. Zeiss

Robert William Zeiss, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 with his family by his side at the age of 94. He was born in Belleville, where he lived until 1975, before moving to Point Pleasant, where he lived for the past forty years. Bob enjoyed raising his family, fishing, and boating. He was a US Navy veteran who served in the Asian Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Post No. 348, Brick, and was retired from Public Service Electric & Gas Company, for the past thirty-four years. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, of sixty-nine years, Shirley. He was also predeceased by his sister, Grace Huguley. He is survived by his children, John Zeiss and his wife Chari of Birmingham, AL, Lorraine DeLillo-Kessler and her husband Joe of Waretown, and Robin Zeiss of Bridgewater. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 6:30 p.m. a service will be held. Interment will take place, 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 14 at the B/G Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to the American Legion, Post 348, 822 Mantoloking Road, Brick, NJ 08723 would be appreciated.
