Obituary of Thomas H. Gesumaria

Thomas H. Gesumaria of New Egypt passed on Monday, August 10, 2015, following a brief but intense illness. Tom grew up in Point Pleasant, graduating from Point Pleasant Boro High School, Ocean County College, and Glassboro State College. He was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, and friend. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Kim Gesumaria, whom he married on Christmas Eve, 2006; three children, Tomas 17, Angela 14, and stepdaughter Brittney Trevisan of Bricktown; and his mother, Cecelia R. Gesumaria, formerly of Point Pleasant. Tom's father, Alfonse S. Gesumaria, passed in 1995. He is also survived by two older brothers, Robert and wife, Judy, of Loveland, CO; and Samuel and wife, Jeanne, of Carmel, CA. Tom worked in the wood flooring trade before succumbing to health challenges. Not a 9-to-5er, Tom had boundless energy, in constant motion from the time he was a child until the end of his life. Tommy, as he was known to most, took up body building at a young age and continued his passion for the sport until his final days. He loved cars, bikes, go carts -- anything that moved on wheels, the faster the better. He shared with Kim a love for their families, stray cats, and large dogs. He loved to retell, often embellish upon, the antics of friends and acquaintances. While he is gone far too soon, Tom could never have endured a long, debilitating illness. For that our family is grateful. Tom so loved his wife, children, and parents. He held them all close. What better measure can there be. We will miss him more than words can express. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 17 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
