Obituary of Thomas E. Williams

Thomas E. Williams, Sr., 84, of Forked River, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away, Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born and raised in Point Pleasant Borough and attended Point Pleasant Beach High School. Mr. Williams entered the United States Navy in 1949 and in 1970, after twenty- two years of active service, entered the Fleet Reserve, for a total of thirty years of service, retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer E-7. Upon retiring, he returned to New Jersey and was employed at Causeway Ford, Manahawkin, and in 1973 was employed at Downs Ford as a parts counterman for twenty-six years, retiring in 1999. He was a current member of Christian Life Center, Toms River. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Catherine Williams; sister, Joan B. Shults; and brother, Herbert D. "Buck" Williams. Surviving are his beloved wife, of sixty years, Joan Ann Herbert Williams; and two sons, Thomas E. Williams, Jr. and his wife Susan of Whiting and Karl M. Williams and his wife Brenda of Victor, MT. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jason T. Williams and his wife Jamie of Millville, Kimberly P. Dare and her husband Joe of Millville, Vicky Williams of Whiting, Melissa and Heather Williams both of Victor, MT, Jennifer Mayer and her husband John of Whiting, and Michele Kestor of Lanoka Harbor; and seven great-grandchildren, Jade and Jayleen Williams, Shawn and Sarah Dare, all of Millville, and Johnny, Justin, & Jessica Mayer of Whiting. Visitation will be from 2 – 4 p.m. & 7 – 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 21 a service will be held at the funeral home, followed by interment, with Military Honors, at White Lawn Cemetery, Point Pleasant.
