Obituary of Alice S. Bembridge

Alice Shaughnessy Bembridge, 81, of Toms River Alice Shaughnessy Bembridge went home to The Lord on Monday, December 21, 2015. She was a lifelong resident of Point Pleasant before settling in Toms River. She worked at Point Pleasant and Brick Hospitals as a dietary aide for seventeen years before retiring in 2003. She loved cooking and entertaining for her family and friends, and hosted an annual fish-fry and Saint Patrick's Day dinner. Besides her family, she was most proud of her 100% Irish heritage. She was predeceased by her first husband, Louis S. D'Heron II, her second husband, Alfred Bembridge, her son, Louis S. "Butch" D'Heron III, her granddaughter, Coryn, her step-daughter, Ellen, and her siblings, James, Mary, Margaret, Jack, Catherine, Nancy, and Joan. She is survived by her brothers, Paul, Francis, and Michael Shaughnessy; her sons, Dennis, Jeff, and Frank D'Heron; her daughters, Bernadette Johnson and Susan Kiessling; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; countless extended family including nieces, nephews, life-long friends, step-children/grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Toonie. Visitation will be from 2 – 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 28, a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter R.C. Church, 406 Forman Ave., Point Pleasant Beach. Cremation will be private.
