Obituary of Alfred B. Havens

Alfred B. Havens, 77, of Brick, passed away, Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Born in Point Pleasant, to the late Elmer and Gertrude May Green Havens, he was a lifelong area resident. Al was retired from Toms River Chemical Corporation, where he worked as a chemical operator. He was a life member and Ex-Chief of the Herbertsville Fire Company, Station 24; member of the New Jersey State Firemen's Association; and was an avid baseball card collector. Surviving are his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Dorothy (Rehak) Havens; and two sons, Edward Havens of Brick and Jeffrey Havens and his wife Sandra of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are his twin brother, Vernon Havens; and six grandchildren, Keith, Eric, Cameron, Jeffrey, Jr., Kurt, and Lindsey. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m., Sunday, July 31 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Monday, August 1 a service will be held at the funeral home and interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
