Obituary of Rosalie G. Caruso

Rosalie G. Caruso (nee Garrabrant), 86, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away, Saturday, September 24, 2016. Born and raised in Saddle River to the late Daniel and Frances "Mary" Garrabrant, she has lived in Point Pleasant Beach since 1960. She was a graduate of Paterson State Teacher's College in 1952 and was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Manasquan. Mrs. Caruso began teaching in Allendale and after raising her children she worked for the Point Pleasant Beach School system as a substitute, and as a special education teacher at Saint Peter School. She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Garrabrant and sister, Marian DiDonato. Surviving are her beloved husband, of fifty-six years, Emidio A. Caruso, Jr.; son, Bruce Caruso and his wife Gayle; daughter, Barbara Lucas and her husband David; and step daughter, Carol Bates; and four grandchildren, Ashley Caruso, Steven Caruso, Christopher Lucas, and Catherine Lucas. Also surviving are her sister, Madeline Hazen and her husband Harry; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road and from 10 – 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 3 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 6 Osborn Ave., Manasquan. At 11 a.m., a service will be held at the church and will be followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
