Obituary of John F. Fleming

John "Jack" Fleming, 75, of Brick, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016, due to ALS, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Bronx, NY to the late Frank and Mary Jane Fleming, he was raised in Newark and Summit. For many years he lived in Point Pleasant Beach and in York, ME and moved to Brick in July. Jack was a graduate of Seton Hall University, South Orange, and worked as a Certified Public Accountant. He was licensed in NJ, ME, and NH and retired from the Maine State Retirement System. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick of the Jersey Shore and was 1991 Grand Marshall of the Belmar Saint Patrick's Day Parade. He also was a member of the Old Emerald Society; the B.P.O. Elks, Point Pleasant Beach Lodge; the NJ Society of Certified Public Accountants; the Knight of Columbus; and was a former member of the Newark Rotary Club. Surviving are his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Eileen Bradshaw Fleming; and two daughters, Sheila M. Hansen and her husband Joseph of Brick and Julie Lyn Carmack and her husband Elliott of York, ME. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jennifer Cincis, Bridget Burak, John Hansen, Eileen Hansen, and Kathleen Fleming; one great-granddaughter, Delaney Rose Cincis; an honorary granddaughter, Kelly Wittek; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 – 4 p.m. & 7 – 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Point Pleasant Beach, followed by interment at Saint Anne Cemetery, Wall.
