Obituary of John Christian Ekarius, Jr.

John Christian Ekarius, Jr., 34, of Brick, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Born in Point Pleasant, he lived in the Brick area all of his life. John was a graduate of Brick Township High School and enjoyed many activities in his youth, including fishing, skiing and youth football. Later he loved music, movies and sports, especially watching the Miami Dolphins. Throughout his life John always thought about others in greater need then he was, and his family is heartened by many tales of his being kind and helpful to people less fortunate than himself. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Carlyle and Marie Patterson and Alfred and Barbara Ekarius. Surviving are his mother, Mary "Chris" Ekarius; father, John C. Ekarius; and brother, Theodore W. Ekarius. JC is also survived by his aunt, Carol and her husband, Ken; several cousins; and friends. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m., Monday, November 28 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
