Obituary of Irene E. Colberg

Irene E. (Devlin) Colberg, 91 of Brick, passed away, Sunday, March 12, 2017. Born in the Bronx to the late Charles and Irene Devlin, she lived there and for thirty-eight years in Point Pleasant, moving to Brick four years ago. She worked as a home health aide and later in ophthalmology. Irene was a member of the Women of Irish Heritage; the Sweet Adeline's; and was a communicant of the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Jack W. Colberg; sister, Gerri; and brother, Charles "Sonny." Surviving are four sons, John "Jack" Colberg and his wife Linda of Shenandoah, VA, Dennis Colberg and his wife Karen of Exeter, RI, Timothy Colberg of Neptune, and Gary Colberg and his wife Kim of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jessaca, Christine, Michael, Charlie, Kevin, Morgan, and Cheyne; three great-grandchildren, Catarina, Alexis, and Aislinn; and her extended family, the Redmond and McSweeney families. At 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 18 a Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
