Obituary of Ann Frances Veiga

Ann Veiga, 98, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newark to the late Katherine and Ignatius Koroluk, Ann lived in East Orange before moving to Point Pleasant in 1957. Ann worked as a secretary for the Risley Soap Company. She later worked in the cafeterias of Saint Peter School, Ocean Road School, Nellie F. Bennett School, and Point Pleasant Borough High School. In summer Ann was employed by Jenkinson's Sweet Shop and Holiday Amusements. Ann was an active participant in the Rosary Altar Society and volunteer at Saint Gregory's Pantry. This hard worker enjoyed spending time with family. The second oldest of eleven children, Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel Veiga in 1984; and by her sisters, Mary Wolf, Stella Genovese, Jane Nobes, Veronica Cardell; and brothers, Edward and Walter Koroluk. Surviving are her six children, Daniel and wife Flora of Maryland, Kathy of Livingston, Michael of Point Pleasant, Stephen and wife Jae of Florida, Irene Austin and husband Joel of Maine, and Peter and wife Debbie of Sussex. Also surviving are her sisters, Irene Koroluk of Union, Helen Melillo of Florida, and Margaret Tinkham of Arizona. Ann is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 4 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 5 a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter R.C. Church, Forman & Saint Louis Aves., Point Pleasant Beach, followed by interment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
