Obituary of Joan M. Vicentini

Joan M. Vicentini, 86, of Lakewood, passed away, Friday, May 12, 2017. Born in Jersey City to the late Thomas and Estelle Garille, she lived there and for many years in Bogota. She moved to Point Pleasant in 1992, where she summered since 1984, and then to Lakewood. She loved fixing things, Bingo, reading, the Boston Red Sox, and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John A. Vicentini; brother, Thomas D. Garille, II; and sisters, Margaret Martinez and Geraldine Malvey. Surviving are her children, Elena (David) of Brick, JoAnne (Jim) of Brick, Thomas (Joan) of Monroe, NY, and Steven of Gouldsboro, PA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jessica (Travis), Arielle (George), Palm (Marla), David (Katie), Emily (Claude), Mia, Nicole, and Isabella; great-grandchildren, Max, Ava, Violet, Sofia, Jake, Lily, Isla, Annie, and Ella; sister-in-law, Ninetta Vicentini; cousin, Kay Willis (Ralph); dear friends, Marge, Peggy, Izzy, Norma, John, Seymour, and Charlotte; and the staff at Leisure Park. Visitation will be from 3 – 8 p.m., Monday, May 15 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Tuesday, a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter R.C. Church, Point Pleasant Beach. Cremation will be private.
