Obituary of Louis A. Obsuth, Jr.

Louis A. Obsuth, Jr., 91, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Born in Garfield to the late Louis A., Sr. and Mary Obsuth, he lived in the Passaic and Clifton area and summered in Point Pleasant since 1960, moving there permanently in 1992. Lou worked for the City of Passaic Board of Education and retired as coordinator of building and grounds. He also was a former member of the NJ Building and Grounds Association. He was a United States Navy, World War II veteran and was an active member of K.of C., Saint Martha Council, Point Pleasant. He also was past Scoutmaster of B.S.A., Troop 36, Passaic; former active parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Passaic; member of the Bay Head Shores Property Owner Association; and was as an avid bowler. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Grace E. Murgio Obsuth and two brothers, Charles and Alexander Obsuth. Surviving are two sons, Louis A. Obsuth, III and his wife Mary Ellen of Brick and Robert J. Obsuth and his wife Donna of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kristyn Kuehnen and her husband Eric, Louis M. Obsuth and his wife Jennifer, Rachel K. Obsuth, and Robert J. Obsuth, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Grant, and Ella; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m., Sunday, December 17 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9:30 a.m., Monday, December 18 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant, followed by entombment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
