Obituary of Douglas R. Hoffman

Douglas R. Hoffman, 60, of Toms River, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Douglas was the son of Robert and Anne Hoffman of Point Pleasant Beach. He is also survived by a sister, Deborah Murray, Manchester; brother, Bruce Hoffman, Point Pleasant; brother, Paul Hoffman, Corona del Mar, CA; and by nine nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews. Douglas grew up in Point Pleasant Beach and graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School. Douglas was a carpenter who worked for several building contractors after graduation. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and motorcycles. Doug was stricken with mental illness in his late teens. He received wonderful mental and physical support for many years from Preferred Behavioral. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m., Monday, March 19 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, a service will be held at the funeral home and followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
