Obituary of Alfred J. Hojer

Alfred J. Hojer, 89, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Saturday, April 4, 2015. Born in Irvington, to the late Alfred & Anna (Sheridan) Hojer, he was raised there and has lived in Point Pleasant since 1954. Mr. Hojer was a United States Navy, World War II veteran and graduate of the Newark College of Engineering. He was retired from Fort Monmouth where he worked as a mechanical engineer for thirty-seven years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, walks on the boardwalk, Word Jumbles, crossword puzzles, and was a HAM Radio operator. Beloved Alfred was a warm and caring husband, father and grandfather who will be missed but forever in our hearts. Surviving are his wife, of nearly sixty-six years, Marion Volz Hojer; four daughters, Jean Bruce (the late, James), Kathleen Cumming (Colin), Patty O'Neill (Owen), and Susan Hojer; and two grandsons, Colin & Sean Cumming.
