Obituary of Charles J. Kelley

CHARLES J. KELLEY, 84, of POINT PLEASANT, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008. Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Charles and Gladys Rigsby Kelley, he lived in Jersey City for most of his life, moving to Point Pleasant eight years ago. He was a United States Army, WWII, "D-Day" Invasion veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne, 3rd & 4th Infantry. For service to his country he was awarded two Purple Hearts with Cluster; the Silver Star; the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal; the Ruptured Duck Pin; and Combat Infantry Badge. He was predeceased by his wife, of over fifty-four years, Evelyn Cleary Kelley. Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, Charles Kelley and his wife Debra; two daughters, Elaine Ipsaro and her husband Louis; and Colleen Taylor and her husband Joseph; his brother and sister-in-law, James and Ethel Kelley; eight grandchildren, Sean, Brian, Timothy, Megan, Louis, Emma, Jason, & Caralyn; and his great-grandson, Michael. Friends may visit from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m. on Monday at THE PABLE - EVERTZ FUNERAL HOME OF POINT PLEASANT, 901 Beaver Dam Road. Services and interment, with honors, at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, are being scheduled.
