Obituary of Ruth L. Haenni

Ruth L. Kreiner Haenni, 90, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Wednesday, August 19, 2009 surrounded by her family at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Manchester, NH, to the late Arthur and Mary (Plant) Kreiner, she was formerly of Kearny and has resided in Point Pleasant since 1953. Mrs. Haenni was a veteran of World War II, serving as a WAVE in the United States Navy. She had worked at Point Pleasant Hardware and also in the cafeteria of the Point Pleasant Borough Schools. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over fifty years, she was past matron of Faith Chapter, O.E.S.; and was a parishioner of Saint Mary's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Point Pleasant Beach. Surviving are her husband of nearly sixty years, Richard L. Haenni; three daughters, Barbara Haenni, Susan Fleming, and Nancy Santa Lucia and her husband Matteo, all of Point Pleasant; six grandchildren, Daniel Fleming, Megan Fleming, and Brendan Fleming, Shayne Santa Lucia, Brittany Headley and her husband Jason, and Anthony Santa Lucia, USMC; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Santa Lucia. Friends may visit with the family from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Monday August 24 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m. Tuesday, a service of remembrance will be held at Saint Mary's By-the-Sea Church, Bay and Atlantic Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach. Interment will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy, contributions made in her memory to Saint Gregory's Pantry, 804 Bay Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742 are suggested.
