Obituary of Christian W. Ritzer

Christian W. Ritzer, Jr., 78, of Brick, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Laurelton Village Care Center. Born and raised in Jersey City to the late, Christian W. Sr., and Helen (Knoop) Ritzer, he moved to Brick in 1965. He was a veteran of the United States Army, Korean War and was a former member of the V.F.W. and American Legion, both of Brick Mr. Ritzer worked for Harris Glass, Jersey City, eventually buying the business. He also was a self employed butcher and later worked for Atlantic Glass, Red Bank, until his retirement. He was predeceased by his brother, John Ritzer and sister, Dorothy Ott. Surviving are his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Helen (Germann) Ritzer; three sons, Glenn Ritzer and his wife Marilyn of Cottage Grove, MN, Thomas Ritzer and his wife RondaSue of Brick and Christian W. Ritzer, III of Philadelphia; his brother, Walter Ritzer; and three grandchildren, Ryan, David, Nicole. Friends may visit from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Friday at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 8:30 p.m. a service will be held. Cremation will be held privately.
