Obituary of Flora M. Collins

Flora Margaret Perez Collins, of Point Pleasant, passed away after a short battle with cancer, on Monday, November 23, 2009, surrounded by her family. Born in Hackensack on June 20, 1921, she married Frank W. Collins on January 15, 1949. She raised her family in Paramus and moved to Point Pleasant in 1986 to enjoy the beach. A retired registrar of the Hackensack Y.W.C.A., she enjoyed playing Bridge and was a communicant of the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant. Her beloved husband, Frank, predeceased her in 1990. Flora is survived by four children and their spouses, Michael & Cathy Collins, Mary Pamela & Terry Miller, Thomas & Barbara Collins, and Frank & Karen Collins; her sister, Evelyn Harmeier and her husband Walter; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Aeck and her husband Jason, Lindsay Collins, Lily Gram-Collins, Danny Collins, W. Scott Haldane and his wife Loreen, Todd Haldane and his partner Lee Huffman, Sean Miller & Mandy Miller; four great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Mason, Tyler, and Carly; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Friday, November 27, at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road (732.899.3300) At 10:30 a.m., Saturday, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, followed by interment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
