Obituary of Russell K. Safar

Russell K. Safar, 92, of Manchester, passed away, Friday, November 27, 2009. Born in Paterson, to the late Thomas & Mary Safar, he was formerly of Lyndhurst and has lived in Manchester for twenty-seven years. Mr. Safar was a retired dry cleaner and owned Safar's Park Cleaning, Lyndhurst. He was a member of Lyndhurst Lodge, F. & A. M. and the B.P.O. Elks, also in Lyndhurst. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosalie. Surviving are two sons, Thomas and his wife Rosalyn of Point Pleasant and Russell and his wife Laura of Fairfield; his sister, Evelyn Redvanly; five grandchildren, Tara, Todd, Tom, Lynn and her husband Dominic, and Robert; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Dana. Friends may visit from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., Monday, November 30 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, a Funeral Liturgy will be said at the Assyrian Orthodox Church of Virgin Mary, 644 Paramus Road, Paramus, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
