Obituary of Edwin Albert Bogart

Edwin Albert "Al" Bogart, 85, of Brick, passed away, Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Born in Middletown, to the late Edwin A. Bogart, Sr. & Mary Carhart Bogart, he was formerly of the Little Silver/Red Bank area and has lived in Brick since 1962. Al was a retired auto body mechanic and worked for various shops retiring from Peugeot -Saab in Wall. He was most proud of serving his country in the United States Army during World War II. Honorably discharged as a Private, Al was in the European Theatre and was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star Medal. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jeanne Garthwait Bogart and by his sister Mary Ricker. Surviving are one son, David Bogart and his wife Penelope of Little Egg Harbor; one daughter, Lisa Vetek of Brick; seven grandchildren, Brooks Vetek, Samantha Brower and her husband Tom, Zachary Vetek, Steven Bogart and his wife Stephanie, Allison Bogart, Jessica Bogart, and Anh Tran; and five great-grandchildren, T.J. & Nolan Brower and Lauren, Steven Jr., & Cadence Bogart. Funeral services will be held, 10 a.m., Saturday, December 5, at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. Interment will follow at White Lawn Cemetery, Point Pleasant. Friends may visit from 7 - 9 p.m., Friday, December 4 and from 9:30 - 10 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
