Obituary of A. Mary Hirst

A. Mary Braz Hirst, 93, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Born in Michigan, to the late John & Mary Braz, she has lived in the area for over sixty years. Mary worked as a transcriptionist for the Point Pleasant Hospital and Brick Hospital/Ocean Medical Center, retiring at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard R. Hirst, Sr. Surviving are her son, Howard R. Hirst, Jr. and his wife Jean of Point Pleasant; her daughter, Gail VanBergen and her husband Ron of North Palm Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Scott Hirst and his wife Candy, Susan Judnick and her husband Brian, and Steven VanBergen; four great-grandchildren; and her sister in law, Fran Braz. Private cremation services were arranged by the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant. A celebration of Mary's life is being planned to be held at a later date.
