Obituary of Mary (Terry) Curtin

Mary (Terry) Curtin, 80, of Bay Head, passed away, Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. Born in Brooklyn to the late Thomas Foristall and Helen McGoldrick Foristall, she grew up in Radburn, NJ before moving to New Rochelle, NY where she met her husband Tom. After living in Chatham, NJ for 10 years, she returned back to their summer home in Bay Head, NJ 26 years ago. After graduating from Marymount College in Virginia she began working for American Airlines. It was during a visit to the NYAC in Pelham where she met her tennis playing husband, Tom whom she married on April 15, 1961. Her house was always a warm and welcoming place to be. She was a devoted mother to their four children and beloved Mimi to their eight grandchildren. She loved getting people together for some last minute parties. She loved traveling with her friends and family and most enjoyed going into NYC for a show and dinner. Her strength and wit will always be remembered by all. Terry was predeceased by Tom in April of this year. Surviving are her two brothers, Lynn Foristall of Mantoloking, NJ and John Foristall of Danbury CT. Also surviving are her two sons, Thomas Curtin (Barbara), and Kevin Curtin (Anne Healy); and two daughters, Mary Ann Curtin (John Kelley) and Maureen McNally (Peter); eight grandchildren, Katie, Kylie, Christopher, Matthew, Lauren, Reese, Jimmy, and Ryan; and many dear friends. At 10 a.m., Monday, June 19 a Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 751 Main Avenue, (Route 35) Bay Head.
