Anna S. Patierno, who was born in Orange on November 17, 1920, died in Point Pleasant on Friday, June 23, 2017 and has been reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Woodrow Patierno. She was predeceased by her parents, Giovanina (Menna) and Tomas Sepe; her brother, Anthony Sepe (Ceil); and her sisters, Louise Rizzo (Salvatore), Rafaela Jakowchik (John), Josephine Monica (Albert), Carmela Monica (Ralph), Ruth Henry (James), and Dolores McTon (Kenneth). She is survived by her children, Sandra Smith (Thomas), Woodrow Patierno (Daneen), and Thomas Patierno; her grandchildren, Thomas Smith (Laurie), Wendy Hille (John), Dawn Mathis (Wayne), William Patierno, Tyler Patierno, Alec Patierno; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Mathis, Fallyn Hille, and Kyle Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Anna was kind and gentle and never complained about the hardships she endured. She always put herself last and her family first. She never spoke badly about anyone and was genuinely happy when someone else received good fortune. If she saw that someone did not have what she had, she would offer to share what she had. Her talents were many and she gave others what she had created from her sewing, tatting, and knitting skills. Her home was always spotless, her cooking skills, extraordinary, and her energy, boundless. She was always content with what she had and trusted that God would take care of her. Her family wishes to thank her many daily caregivers and all the staff members of Claremont in Point Pleasant, who so lovingly cared for her and expressed to our family their love for our mother. Thanks to all of you we had peace of mind that she was always surrounded with love and laughter. You are an amazing group of people. Thank you is inadequate for all that you rendered to our mother. Also the family would like to express our appreciation and thanks to the personnel from Serenity Hospice for the comfort and care they gave to our mother. Anna will be forever missed and will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
