Obituary of Jean Jenkins Hobbs

Jean Jenkins Hobbs of Toms River, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2017. She was born in Newark to the late Jean and Frank Jenkins and moved to Point Pleasant in 1968. She lived for nine years in Manassas, VA. She retired from Allstate Insurance in 1988 and returned to the Jersey Shore. Jean was predeceased by her husband, J. Francis Hobbs; sister, Joan McCormack; brothers, Frank William and Robert Scott Jenkins; and her beloved daughter, Diane Petersen. Surviving are her son, Scott Kirwan and his fiancée, Shannon Bonafide and step-daughter, Mary Ellen Rohrbaugh. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Caitlin Peterson and Ian Kirwan; many nieces and nephews; and last, but not least, her faithful buddy, "Baby Girl." There will be a celebration of Jean's life from 2 – 6 p.m., on Saturday, October 28 at the Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company No. 2, 614 Laurel Ave., Point Pleasant Beach.
