Thank you Connie for being such a good friend to me. You were the one that talked me into staying a teacher after a very difficult first year. You will be missed by so many. You have truly touched the lives of everyone you came into contact with.
My deepest sympathy to Jeanie, to his family, and to all of us who will remember what a kind, generous, witty and caring human being you are.
You will be a fond memory in my heart forever.

Coach Rieder was a wonderful influence on me and all of my High School Football teammates. Not only about Football but about Life. He was a fantastic role model that stressed academics first and always Coached with his heart. You could tell the man loved you even when he was kicking you in the rear. My Heartfelt condolences go out to his companion Jean and all of his extended family. May perpetual light shine upon you Coach Rieder! Thank for showing us the way!

Dearest Jean, Brian, Katie and Barb,
We are so very sorry for your loss. We loved Con very much, he was one of our most favorite cousins. We feel so fortunate to have been able to connect with Con in the recent years.
Please know you are always welcome in our home here, even though, as Con used to like to say, it's on the "left" coast..
Much love to all of you,
Pam and Martin

My wife and I wish to extend our condolences to Conrad's family. My wife Virginia, who was also raised in Garwood on Locust Avenue ,knew his Mom who used to work in the school. We both taught in Freehold Boro,3qr2G and I taught English at Freehold Township for many years when Connie was a guidance counselor. We have many fond memories of Connie and our time spent at FTHS! Please know that our thoughts are with you all in this difficult time. You were so fortunate to have him in your lives. Consider that a real blessing!

I've connected with many of my high school & even grammar school friends( met Connie in 4th grade) over the last couple of years, but to my regret not Connie. I well remember him leading football calenthetics and choosing the "coordination drill" simply because our star tackle had trouble with it; Connie smiling all throughout. He seemed to always have a smile, every day being a good one, and was one heckuva undersized guard. RIP Conrad!

Connie was a man I respected not only as a colleague but as a friend. The memories of Armada Day would not have been possible without our dear captain and his wonderful parents who put up with us all throughout the years. He was a man whose work ethic far surpassed most and his concern for his students was always paramount. I have been blessed to have known him and honored to have called him a friend. To Jean and his children-- I am so very sorry for your loss and may the wonderful memories of our Captain bring you peace. With love and prayers,

Connie was always there for my two sons, Scott and Chris, when he was their high school counselor. As a colleague for more than 32 years at FTHS, he and I worked closely to help students and teachers. I recall his ready smile and robust laughter on many occasions as he had a great sense of humor. Once he gave me the title of "Woman of Letters" as he handed me an envelope with letters of the alphabet, a reference to my finishing my Master's at Rutgers. He often said things like, "Now, she's a REAL English teacher," to students who came to complain about the hard work they had to do in my class--always with a smile. I am forever indebted to Connie for taking my son, Chris, under his eye when he was applying for West Point and gained admission. When Chris felt isolated that first year, Connie made a point to visit West Point (of course, the football game was on) and invited Chris over to join his tailgate group. Chris was thrilled (my son is a Lt. Col. today) to see him (Connie always asked about him as my son has been deployed many times). Because I was an employee at the time, I was able to "choose" Connie as the best counselor for my sons. I asked him because I knew that he had a way of connecting--and my sons would appreciate him and benefit from his talent. We are so saddened by these turn of events as he loved life, and life loved him back. He talked of his family, especially his children, as we do as parents. I hope these memories of ours here in NJ comfort you in your loss of this accomplished father and loving man. --Lynnda Williams (English teacher/supervisor, FTHS, life-long friend, colleague)

Very privileged to have known and worked with Connie at Freehold Twp. High School. He was held in high regard by the kids he helped in his roles as Teacher, Coach and Guidance Counselor, and also by his colleagues and friends in and outside of school. I enjoyed spending time at the gym with Connie and talking sports. He was truly a good friend and a good person. My condolences to Jeannie and his family.
