Obituary of Jacque A. Jobes
Jacque A. Jobes, 85, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 5, 2018, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Neptune, he lived in Point Pleasant for all of his life.
Jacque was a United States Coast Guard veteran and graduate of the McAllister School of Embalming, Manhattan. He worked as a funeral director for thirty-one years in Point Pleasant Beach, and then worked for the State of New Jersey, Division of Consumer Affairs, and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.
Jacque was a member of Durand Lodge, #179, F.& A.M.; and Asbury Park Forest #18, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He also was a member of the American Legion and the Point Pleasant Elks Lodge No. 1698.
He was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Margaret Jobes and sister, Jane Jobes Mauch.
He is survived by his beloved wife, of sixty-five years, Beatrice (Poland) Jobes; daughter, Merrilee A. Jobes of FL; son, Karl Jobes and wife Kathy of Brick; daughter, Nancy Jobes Somerville and partner Christos Michael of Point Pleasant; and five grandchildren, Melissa Jobes Semple and husband David of Monroe, Karl P. Jobes and wife Jenn of Toms River, Jacque L. Jobes and wife Colleen of Lakewood, and George R. Somerville and wife Marissa of Philadelphia. Jacque is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Mary, David, Patrick, Mia, and Liam.
Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 8 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. Inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle, will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in his memory, to Harvey Memorial United Methodist Church, 1120 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant, NJ 08742.
