Obituary of Robert A. Riley

 

Robert A. Riley, 77, of Brick, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

Born in Orange, NJ to the late Albert and Teresa (McCarthy) Riley, he grew up in Maplewood, moved to Point Pleasant in 1976, and lived in Brick for the last four years.

Bob worked as a self-employed printing press mechanic and was a veteran of the United States Army.

He enjoyed playing Ping Pong, Bocce Ball, and was the 2017 Princeton Commons Pool Tournament champion.  “Mr. Bob” was always ready and willing to help anyone out with their project, big or small.

Surviving are his beloved wife of fifty years, Sharon (McAteer) Riley; and two sons, Bob Riley and his wife Michele of Baltimore, MD, and Mike Riley and his wife Lorraine of Brick. Also surviving are two grandsons, Connor and Dillon Riley; his brother, James Riley; and three sisters, Teresa McNamara, Patricia DeBlassi, and Margaret Riley.  He was predeceased by his brothers, William and Frederick, and sister, Florence.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 18 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 2:30 p.m. a service will be held.  A private interment will take place at a later date.
