Obituary of Alfreda J. Tilton
Alfreda “Freda” J. Ehrig Tilton, 93, of Aberdeen, MD, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away, Friday, August 10, 2018.
Born in Bradley Beach to the late George and Hazel (Rogers) Ehrig, she was raised there and for many years lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Aberdeen, MD in 2009.
Freda worked as an assembler for Sealed Unit Parts Co., Allenwood, for twenty-five years. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Point Pleasant Borough Fire Company No 2. and was a weekly volunteer at the Aberdeen Proving Ground. She was a long time member of Harvey Memorial United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant, and was currently a member of Cranberry United Methodist Church, Aberdeen, MD.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles H. Tilton and sister, Carol Skok.
Surviving are her children, Laura Knause of Forest Hill, MD, Beverly Gibson and husband Thomas of Aberdeen, MD, Charles J. Tilton of Farmingdale, and Caryl Tilton of Aberdeen, MD. Also surviving are her sister, Mary Hall; five grandchildren, Justin, Mariah, Sue, Daryl, and Robert, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Erin and Jackson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursday, August 16 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 1 p.m. a service will be held at the funeral home and followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
