Obituary of Betty "Sue" McNamara

Betty “Sue” Hagan McNamara, 87, of Brick, passed away, Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

 

Born in Nashville, TN to the late Charles P. Hagan, Sr. and Mary Thelma Webb Hagan, she lived there until moving to the Washington, DC area.  In 1961 she moved to Rutherford, NJ, moving back to Nashville in 1977 to care for her aging parents, and has lived in Brick since 1993.

 

Sue worked in club management and had been employed by the Belle Mead Country Club and the University Club of Nashville at Vanderbilt University. She was a member of the Country Club Managers Association.

 

Sue was an artistic, lifelong crafter including sewing, quilting, needlepoint, and beaded jewelry and was a member of the Beading Society of NJ.

 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, Thomas W. McNamara; brother, Charles P. Hagan, Jr.; and sister, Bobbye Ann Atkeison.

 

Surviving are three children, Kevin McNamara and wife Deborah of Rio Vista, CA, Colleen Gordon and husband Craig of Brick, and Daniel McNamara of Nashville.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Timothy McNamara and Allyn Ann McNamara; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

A memorial visitation will be from 2pm-4pm on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
