Bonaventura "Bonnie" Scala

Obituary of Bonaventura "Bonnie" Scala

Bonaventura Scala (nee Reilly), of Brick, NJ and Delray Beach, FL, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Delray Beach, FL.  She was 75.

Bonnie was born in Jersey City on December 3, 1943, the eldest daughter of Charles J and Mary F. (nee McLaughlin) Reilly.  Bonnie attended Mt. Saint Dominick’s Academy in Caldwell, NJ before moving to California and graduating from La Jolla High School in 1961.  After high school, she moved back to NJ and completed her college degrees.  Bonnie moved to Brick, in 1977, where she became a well-known and well-respected real estate agent.

Bonnie was truly an angel on earth. She brought love, friendship, happiness and truth to everyone she knew – everyone. If you met her for the first time, you would find yourself sharing your life story with her because of the comfort, trust and sincerity you felt.  She developed sincere friendships from Lake Riviera, NJ to Tropic Bay, Delray Beach, FL, and from Denver, CO to California.

If you look into the heavens you will see her-she is one of God’s brightest stars.

She is survived by her loving companion of nineteen years, Paul Amelchenko of Brick and Delray Beach. Also surviving are her son, Charles John Ribaudo (Christine Ribaudo) of Morris Plains, and her daughter, Bonnie Ribaudo (Jason Linam) of Sea Girt, who is grateful for every minute and lesson she taught her, and her adoring grandchildren, Daniel Charles Ribaudo and Charlotte Nicole Ribaudo of Morris Plains and her loving niece Emerald Reilly Lindskog (Brian Lindskog) of Campbell, CA.

Bonnie is also survived by Paul’s children, Tara Amelchenko of Asbury Park, and Paul Amelchenko (Stacey Amelchenko) of Lighthouse Point, FL, and grandchildren, Zachary and Brady Amelchenko, as well as her step-grandson, Anthony Galante of Daytona Beach, FL; and her brothers and sister, Rev. James J. Reilly of Rutherford, Kitty Reilly (Penny Hess) of St. Louis,  Charles Reilly (Scott Amerine) of Denver, and Denis Reilly of Bayonne.
