Obituary of John Gerard Russo

John Gerard Russo passed away suddenly to be in the arms of Our Lord on August 27th, 2019.

Born in Belleville,  John grew up in Newark and Bloomfield. He was a Boy Scout and played baseball, sponsored by Dickie Dee's. He attended Bloomfield High School, where he played football for the Bloomfield  Bengals. John moved to Brick, N.J. in 2001 with his family. He was the former co-owner, of JoJo's Italian Style Hot Dog truck, along with his father. He presently was employed as an installer by The Fireplace Place, in Summit, N.J.. 

John enjoyed fishing, cooking, comedy, music, having card games with friends, etc. His greatest passions of all were God and spending time with his family. John loved animals, especially his beloved cat, Lucky, and his dog. Abigail. He adored his nieces and nephews and enjoyed playing games, watching movies going to boardwalk, playing basketball and fishing with them. He was excited and looking forward to the birth of his great niece. John was loved and admired by all his family, friends, teachers, coaches  employers and co-workers. His wonderful smile and good nature, will be mostly remembered about him by many. 

John was predeceased by his best friend his father, Paul C. Russo, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Rose Greco and John Vallario; his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Rose Russo; his loving uncle and Godfather, Victor Vallario; and his cousin,  John Blunt.

John is survived and will be forever loved and sadly missed by his mom, Joanne Russo, stepfather, Michael D. Sirchio, sister, Danielle Russo of Point Pleasant, brother, Paul C. Russo, Jr. of N. Carolina, and his nieces and nephews, Gianna, Nikolaos (Nico), Faith, Georgie, and Thomas Pianka. Loving nephew and Godson of Theresa and Skip Blunt of Belvidere (formerly of Bloomfield), cousins Louisa (LuLu) and Robert Colucci of N. Carolina, Rosemarie Ingwersen (RoRo) of Clifton, Theresa and Thomas Migliaccio of W. Caldwell, Anthony and Kathy Blunt of Little Falls, and Victor Vallario of Orange, NJ., Daniel Russo of Woodland Park, and Joseph Russo Jr., of Tom's River, his lifelong  and devoted second brother and friend Daniel Kane of Nutley, NJ., along with many other relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 4 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.  At 10 a.m., Thursday, September 5 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Forman and Saint Louis Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach. 

In lieu of flowers contributions to the family would be deeply appreciated.
