Obituary of Michael G. Blake

Michael George Blake, 62, of Point Pleasant, died at Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean Medical Center in Brick on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

Mr. Blake was born in Newark and lived in East Orange until moving to Point Pleasant in 1971.  He was a graduate of Point Pleasant Borough High School and was employed by the Navesink Marina in Sea Bright for several years before retiring.

He was often called by his nickname, “Cotton.”  Mr. Blake was an avid fisherman and Ham Radio operator. Mr. Blake was often seen riding his bicycle throughout the town. He always had a smile for anyone he met. 

Mr. Blake was predeceased by his mother, Estelle, and father, Norman.  He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Cheryl Blake of Point Pleasant, Jeffrey and Lynn of Point Pleasant, and his sister, Christine Blake of Barnegat. He is also survived by his nieces, Blair Blake, of Philadelphia, PA and Amanda Zastocki and her husband, Matthew of  Atco; and his nephews, Mathew Blake and Stephen Blake, both of Point Pleasant.

Memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. - Noon, Saturday, December 7 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
