Obituary of Margaret Yocius
Margaret “Peg” Lennon Yocius, 88, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020.
Born in North Arlington to the late John and Catherine Lennon, she was raised there and graduated from Queen of Peace High School. Margaret moved from North Arlington to Point Pleasant where she lovingly raised her children and continued to live there for over sixty years.
Margaret was the former owner and operator of Poor Boy Subs, Seaside Heights for twenty years. She was a devoted Catholic, daily communicant, and parishioner of the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Merritt; siblings, Mary, John, and Catherine; and her former husband, Stanley P. Yocius, Sr.
Surviving are her children, Catherine Yocius of Point Pleasant, Stanley P. Yocius, Jr. and wife, Patti of Brick, and Monica Pastore of Toms River. Also surviving are her sister, Eileen Wagner; thirteen grandchildren, Michael Yocius and wife, Kim, James Yocius and wife, Cindy, Andrew Yocius, Kathleen Rose, Sarah Rose, Albert Yocius, Luke Yocius and wife, Adeana, Noah Pastore, Charles Pastore, David Merritt, Melissa Merritt, Matthew Lyons, and Alyssa Lyons; and two great-grandchildren, Aislynn and Sydney.
A Memorial Liturgy and inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, will be at a later date.
