Obituary of John Nydam
John “Jack” Nydam, 68, of Brick, passed away early Saturday morning, August 1, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife, Jill; his children, Ashley, Mickey, Amber, Kelsey, and Joey; his son-in-laws Scott and Brian; his grandchildren Hailey, Jack, and Bryce; his mother, Winifred; his siblings Ron and his wife Sugar, Ken and his wife Judy, and Cindy and her husband Tom; his many nieces, nephews, and other family members; and of course, his best pals Harbor, Finley, and Splash.
Everyone knew Jack - he was always the life of the party and the first to say “hello” to anyone he didn’t know. His love for life and his family was evident in everything he did, always going above and beyond to make sure everyone was included and having a great time. He was happiest anytime he was out on a boat or early morning fishing. He was the self-proclaimed president of the “Can’t Catch Sh*t” club, the world’s biggest “Deadliest Catch” fan, an avid golfer, a grill master, and a karaoke king. He loved to tell stories, and his memories about his childhood and time out in Colorado would entertain a crowd for hours.
His passion for love and happiness will continue to be a guiding light for his family. He will be sorely missed and forever cherished. Hopefully the gates of Heaven had a Bloody Mary waiting for him and are ready for a good chorus of “put another log on the fire.”
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m., Thursday, August 6 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Friday, August 5 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter R.C. Church, 406 Forman Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach. (Facial coverings are required, attendance limitations, and adherence to social distancing is in effect)
In lieu of flowers and given the love Jack had for his grandchildren a “GoFundMe” account has been set up for his three grandchildren. The account will then be disbursed into a 529 College Savings Fund for each child. https://bit.ly/3fmJ5lT
