Obituary of James Cicalese

 

James Cicalese, 88, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

 

Born in Newark, the youngest child of the late Vincenzo and Antoinette Cicalese, he grew up there and summered in Point Pleasant Beach, moving there permanently in 1964 and later to Point Pleasant.

 

Mr. Cicalese worked as Ocean County Director of Risk Management for twenty years and retired in 1994.  He also was a partner of the Hoffman Beach House from the early 1960’s until the mid-70’s.

 

He was a United States Army, Korean War veteran and graduate of both Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University.

 

Mr. Cicalese served on the Point Pleasant Beach Borough Council, Recreation Committee, and Planning Board and was active with the Point Pleasant Beach Little League.  He also served on the New Jersey State Lottery Commission and was a communicant of Saint Peter Church, Point Pleasant Beach.

 

Surviving are his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Theresa Cicalese; and his children, Maureen Mauro and husband, James of Point Pleasant Beach, Vincent Cicalese and wife, Lisa of Point Pleasant Beach, Michael Cicalese of Point Pleasant, and Kathleen Kelly and husband, Brian of Point Pleasant.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Danielle, Casey, Jimmy, Sean, Kevin, Vincent, Jr., and Haley; other family members; and many friends.

 

At 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 29 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, 406 Forman Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. (Facial coverings are required and adherence to social distancing will be in effect.)
