


Obituary of Eleanor McComas
Eleanor McComas, of Brick, died on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Eleanor was born January 14th, 1938 in Long Branch, to the late Harold Cornell and Gladys (nee White) Kahle, and attended Long Branch High School. She then attended Wagner College and graduated with a BS in Nursing. She married William Anderson and had four children. She worked for Point Pleasant Hospital as a staff nurse and then a nursing supervisor. When that hospital closed, she transferred to Ocean Medical Center where she was a supervisor and finally a patient advocate. In all she worked for the hospital system for thirty-eight years. After her divorce, she married the love of her life William "Bill" McComas. She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean. She was a sun worshipper. She loved playing slots at Atlantic City. She enjoyed eating and trying different types of food. Some of her favorite times were having family parties and playing board games. She joined a gym in her fifties and embraced exercise as a large part of her life. She loved Zumba and water aerobics and more importantly, the friendships she developed at the gym. After retirement, she was an active member of the Ocean Medical Center Guild where she served as treasurer. She maintained close friendships with many of her previous coworkers.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bill; daughter, Dianne "DeeDee" Holroyd; and brother, John Kahle.
She is survived by her daughters (and their partners) Tammy Anderson (Rosalie LoScrudato), Terri Callan, and Holly Lerner (husband, Howard) all of Brick; grandchildren: Chelsea Callan (fiancé, Matthew Hassett) of Washington, DC, Mariellyn Dowd (husband, Daniel) of Toms River, and Breanna Callan (fiancé, Thomas Marino) of Holmdel; Amanda Alvarado-Anderson (Michael Emanueli) of Brick: her step son Daniel McComas (Danny) and children Samantha and Stephanie; her nieces and nephew and their children: Patricia and Richard Hansen of Wall Twsp. and their children, Brian, Eric, and Kate, Denise and Edward Mitchell of Wall Twsp. and their children, Christopher and Kelly, Virginia and Doug Reynolds of Huntsville, AL and Jack and Ellyn Kahle of Oceanport and children, Justin, Colleen, and Stephen and great grandnieces and nephews. She is also survived by her rescue dog, Bella, "the best dog ever.”
Visitation will be 2 – 5 p.m., Sunday, January 10 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 19 a service and inurnment will take place the the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Provinceline Road, Arneytown. (Facial coverings are required and adherence to social distancing will be in effect. Time limiting is requested for consideration of others wishing to pay respects.)
