Obituary of Eleanor McComas

Eleanor McComas, of Brick, died on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.

Eleanor was born January 14th, 1938 in Long Branch, to the late Harold Cornell and Gladys (nee White) Kahle, and attended Long Branch High School.  She then attended Wagner College and graduated with a BS in Nursing.  She married William Anderson and had four children.  She worked for Point Pleasant Hospital as a staff nurse and then a nursing supervisor.  When that hospital closed, she transferred to Ocean Medical Center where she was a supervisor and finally a patient advocate. In all she worked for the hospital system for thirty-eight years.  After her divorce, she married the love of her life William "Bill" McComas. She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean.  She was a sun worshipper. She loved playing slots at Atlantic City.  She enjoyed eating and trying different types of food.  Some of her favorite times were having family parties and playing board games.  She joined a gym in her fifties and embraced exercise as a large part of her life. She loved Zumba and water aerobics and more importantly, the friendships she developed at the gym. After retirement, she was an active member of the Ocean Medical Center Guild where she served as treasurer.  She maintained close friendships with many of her previous coworkers.
