Dear Bill, Dot; & Bill,
THE PRESENCE OF PAT
Hearing the sad news about Pat passing leaves us with a heavy heart. We shared the news with Prudence and she mentioned working with Pat was like working at home. We were much like a family. She remembered when Bill dressed up as Santa Claus and the robust laughter of Pat and Bill ringing through our office, while Prudence's children wouldn't go near them.
Pat had so many special ways and talents. She had excellent organizational & secretarial skills and a natural at figuring out things and implementing ideas. Most of all Pat was always supportive, calming and most enjoyable to work with.. I would like to share one remembrance that may be silly to some but is a special remembrance to Nick and myself.
When our office first moved into our current location, we discovered when we were not up front, we would not hear if someone entered. Not realizing our "idea" person, Pat, came in the next day with 3 bells tied on a red rope. What's that about? Pat then tied them to the office door knob. Now we knew when clients entered! Simple and effective.
When Pat retired we missed her and her presence. However to this day, the 3 bells remain tied to our office door, not removed since she put them there. The 3 bells continue to jingle which now become even more special and a remembrance of Pat.
It is a difficult time of acceptance. We knew Pat as a fighter and not to give up. A very tough challenge for Pat unable to talk and express oneself is most frustrating. Pat is happier now with the Holy One, , but we are not. We pray for Pat and her Family, A time for healing, but we have Pat's PRESENCE in our hearts. God Bless Pat.
We are unable to join you but are with you in spirit.
Best regards and love
