Obituary of Helen Shay

Helen “Pat” Shay (nee McKeon), 83, of Point Pleasant and Stuart, FL, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Kathryn McKeon, she was raised there and later lived in Milanville, PA, Point Pleasant, and Stuart, FL. 

Pat worked as a secretary and retired from Nicholas A. D’Apolito, CPA, Little Silver.  She was a member of the Bay Head Shores Property Owner’s Association and the Point Pleasant Elks Lodge 1698 Ladies Auxiliary.  Her favorite hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, Kindle games, and Florida. 

Pat is survived by her beloved husband, of over sixty years, William F. Shay; son, William R. Shay and his wife, Marybeth of Lawrenceville; and daughter, Dorothy R. Mnich of Brick.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alexander Shay, Victoria Shay, Christopher and Casey Mnich, and Daniel Mnich.   

Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., Thursday, April 22 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, (Facial coverings are required and adherence to social distancing will be in effect.)
