Obituary of Frances E. Kunz

 

Frances E. Heerich Kunz, 91, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021.

Born in Saint Louis, MO to the late Edgar and Florence Heerich, she grew up in Westfield and has lived in Point Pleasant since 1954.

Mrs. Kunz was a graduate of New Jersey College for Women, now Douglass College, New Brunswick, and worked as a substitute teacher in Point Pleasant and Bay Head schools for many years.  She was a devoted member of the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, a former trustee at  Bay Head Chapel, and an enthusiastic volunteer for UNICEF, Ocean’s Harbor House, and Saint Gregory’s Pantry.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, of over fifty-six years, William; and by her son, Bruce.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Kunz and his wife, Hillary of Raleigh, NC, and Craig Kunz and his wife, Yvonne of Hopewell.  She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Cooledge; two grandchildren, Heather Kunz and Ryan Kunz and his wife, Jennifer; and two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Jared.

Memorial visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, April 26 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.  At 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, a service will be held at the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Bay and Forman Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach.
