Obituary of Annmarie C. Thornley
Annmarie C. Thornley (nee Wallo), 80, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022.
Born in Orange, NJ on October 29, 1941 to the late John and Adele Wallo, she grew up in Neptune before moving to Point Pleasant in 1963.
Annmarie was a devoted wife and the most loving, caring, selfless person you could ever meet. Even through her declining health, she never complained and always had a smile on her face. She especially enjoyed seeing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. No matter what kind of pain she was in, she was always happy and welcomed everyone with open arms. She was an amazing cook and baker, everyone looked forward to her homemade cakes she made for all family get togethers. She loved playing solitaire, and playing war with her grandchildren, doing her crossword puzzles, and crocheting. We will miss her Christmas cookie decorating she did with all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, which was a memorable tradition that included all the kids from the neighborhood. She especially enjoyed her vodka.
It has been Eileen and Laura’s, honor to be her caregivers for the past few years. She was always a pleasure and an absolute sweetheart. They will miss all the memorable times seeing her go up and down in her electric recliner and watching Law and Order SVU all day with her.
Annmarie is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, James M. Thornley; three daughters, Eileen Caputo and her husband Rich, Diane Pangaro and her husband Todd, and Laura Thornley; and one son, James R. Thornley. Also surviving are her sister, Sharon Zborowski; brother, Richard Wallo; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Kayla, Todd, Jimmy, Kelly, and Joshua; and two great-grandchildren, Caysen and Everly. She was predeceased by her brother, Skipper.
Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 16 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
