Obituary of Patricia M. Godwin

Patricia M. Godwin, 77, of Point Pleasant passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022.

Pat was born at Newark Presbyterian Hospital on March 14, 1944 to Paul and Mary (Reed) Godwin. She was a resident of Newark and East Orange graduating from East Orange Catholic in 1962. 

After high school, Pat worked as a legal secretary for many years. She later trained to be a casino dealer where she worked in Atlantic City. Her love of travel led her to employment with Princess Lines cruises as a dealer. During this time, she traveled extensively in the US, Europe, Caribbean Islands, and as far as Australia. Her two most recommended places were Alaska and the Panama Canal. 

Her hobbies include watching "The Charmed Ones," spending time with her family, including giving makeup and hair tips, and sharing her clothes with her nieces. She loved a good cup of coffee and dessert; enjoyed family dinners; and could be counted on to be a ray of sunshine in the morning, no matter how much it annoyed the non-morning people.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Mary Godwin; brother, Joseph R. Godwin and nephew, Timothy Hopler.  She is survived by sisters, Barbara Godwin and Mary Kathleen Hopler. She will be missed by her nieces/nephews and grand nieces/nephews, as well by her family members and friends.

At 1 p.m., Saturday, April 2 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, 406 Forman Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach.
