Obituary of Lawrence D. Amato

Lawrence “Larry” D. Amato, 75, of Toms River, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022.

Born in Hoboken to the late Natale and Emily Amato, he grew up there and has lived in Toms River for over fifty years.

Larry served in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War and was a Disabled American Veteran.  For many years he worked as a hair stylist and owned and operated Hombre in Brick.  In 2007 with his son, Nat he opened Amato’s Hair Studio, Point Pleasant.

He was predeceased by his brother, Jerry Amato.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, of forty-eight years, Theresa “Chickie” Amato; and son, Natale Amato and his wife, Meghan of Asbury Park.  He is also survived by his sister, Maryellen Underwood; and four grandchildren, Stephen, Micky, Evelyn, and Desmond.

At 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 13 a prayer service, military honors, and inurnment will take place at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown.
