


Obituary of Theresa Amato
Theresa “Chickie” B. Amato, 73, of Toms River, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022.
Born in Jersey City to the late William and Marie Dorrity, she grew up in North Bergen and has lived in Toms River for over fifty years.
Chickie worked as a receptionist for several hair salons and was truly devoted to her family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over forty-eight years, Lawrence “Larry” Amato in March of this year; and by her brothers, William and Joseph Dorrity.
Chickie is survived by her son, Natale Amato and his wife, Meghan of Asbury Park. She is also survived by her brothers, John Dorrity and his wife, Sharon and Frank Dorrity and his wife, Margaret; sisters, Mary Matthias and Kate Dorrity; and grandchildren, Stephen, Micky, Evelyn, and Desmond.
At 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 1 a prayer service and inurnment will take place at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown.
