Obituary of James Cox
Loving husband, father, and “GP," James “Jimmy the Barber” Cox, 76, of Brick, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, surrounded by family.
Jimmy was a barber by trade for fifty years and he absolutely loved his job and clients. His career started at Jerry’s Barbers Shop, then went on to own several shops over the years beginning with the Barbery Coast, Hair Lair, and ultimately settling at Hair Line Men’s Haircutter in Point Pleasant Beach for thirty-three years.
To know Jimmy was to love him. He was one of a kind and had many hobbies. One of his favorite hobbies was his obsession with buying and restoring cars. He had a unique way marketing these cars and anyone who knew him knows exactly how.
Predeceased by his mother Mary, he is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-seven years, Pamela Cox; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Angelo Demarco; his children, Christina and Jimmy Irving, Tara and Jim Kuhl; and Tammy Kern and Patrick Niccoli; seven grandchildren, Lacey and Michael Sperduti, James and Samantha Irving, Jordan Irving, Emma Kuhl, Sydney Kern, James Kuhl, and Payton Kern. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m., Monday, June 20 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to MADD www.madd.org
