Obituary of Jane Watkins

Jane Curran Watkins passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at her home in Point Pleasant.   

Jane was a life-time resident of Point Pleasant. She grew up on Morris Avenue until her marriage to Dick Watkins in 1949, where she lived on River Road for the past seventy-three years.

She raised eight children.

Jane was an avid reader and loved square dancing, bowling, camping, and occasionally rode horses English-style. She played mahjong, and was a member of the Garden Club, Point Pleasant Historical Society, and the Red Hats. She worked in the billing department of Jersey Shore Hospital after raising her children.

Jane was predeceased by her husband, Dick; her son, Richard, Jr.; her grandson, Joseph Pinnella, and her granddaughter, Lana Watkins. She is survived by her children, Catherine Gaskin, Debbie Bernard, Shirley Blunda, Gina Watkins, Jennifer Troncone, Timothy Watkins, and Madeline Lyon.  She loved her twenty-one grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from Noon – 3 p.m. Sunday, July 10 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
