Bernard S. Morse, 88, of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Crest Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center after a brief illness. 

He was born and raised in New York City, New York.  He was predeceased by his wife of over fifty-four years, Rosemary N. Morse.

Bernard earned a Batchelor of Arts from New York University in 1955, a Master’s of Science from New York University in 1956, and an MD from the Seton Hall College of Medicine and Dentistry (now known as the University of Medicine and Dentistry-UMDNJ) in 1960. 

Bernard specialized in Hematology/Oncology during the over fifty years he practiced Medicine in New Jersey. Besides being a doctor, Bernard served as a Captain in the United States Air Force from 1965-1967.  He also served as a Professor of Medicine at the UMDNJ from 1978-1987 and was well regarded in the Hematology research field having published over seventy articles in medical journals.  Following his tenure as Professor at UMDNJ, Bernard spent twenty-five years in private medical practice in Jersey City, NJ.

Despite his achievements, he always loved spending time with family and friends at both the Jersey Shore and Myrtle Beach, SC.  He enjoyed boating, going out to dinner, reading, taking his golden retrievers to the dog park, and traveling with his family.  Bernard led a long and happy life.  He was an amazing man and he will be sorely missed.

Bernard is survived by his children and their partners, Wayne and Hilary Morse, Jennifer Morse Wyckoff, and Richard Pace; and his six grandchildren, Chandler Morse, Jeffrey Wyckoff, Megan Morse, Hunter Wyckoff, Alexandra Morse, and Griffin Wyckoff.

A memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, February 10 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
